The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/News-Releases\/News-Release-View\/Article\/1210522\/dod-identifies-army-casualties\/source\/GovDelivery\/\">Department of Defense<\/a> released their names today;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Department of Defense announced today the death of three soldiers who were supporting Operation Freedom\u2019s Sentinel.<\/p>\n<p>They died June 10 in Peka Valley, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, of gunshot wounds sustained in Peka Valley, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. The incident is under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The Soldiers were assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 3rd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Company D, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY.<\/p>\n<p>          Killed were:<\/p>\n<p>Sgt. Eric M. Houck, 25, of Baltimore, Maryland;<\/p>\n<p>Sgt. William M. Bays, 29 of Barstow, California; and<\/p>\n<p>Corporal Dillon C. Baldridge, 22 of Youngsville, North Carolina<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/njtoday.net\/2017\/06\/12\/army-ids-three-dead-soldiers-afghanistan\/\">New Jersey Today<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Houck and his wife Samantha have two children, according to her Facebook profile. In a public post on the social media website, Samantha Houck called her husband a \u201chero\u201d and an \u201cangel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI promise I will do all I can for our babies, and I will make you proud!\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Bays leaves behind a wife, Jasmin, and three children, according to his Facebook profile.<\/p>\n<p>Baldridge was a 2012 graduate of Franklinton High School where he was a wrestler, according to the school whose unit was due to return to Fort Campbell by August.
