[Sheriff\u2019s Sgt. Ray ] Kelly said the rancher called  911 and said he had shot someone.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly said the rancher and [Scott] Hagan had recently met and authorities believe Hagan was possibly going to burglarize the property.<\/p>\n<p>He is accused of driving onto the property and using the truck to smash into a barn, the rancher\u2019s home, a truck and the propane tank.<\/p>\n<p>The resident armed himself with a pistol and told Hagan to stop the truck and get out, Kelly said.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Hagan began driving toward the rancher, who fired several shots at him.<\/p>\n<p>After being shot, Hagan was able to drive off the property. He was found in his truck stopped on the road.  He was airlifted to a San Jose hospital, where he was being uncooperative with investigators, Kelly said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Richard sends us a link from <a href=\"http:\/\/wjla.com\/news\/nation-world\/everett-couple-finds-own-stolen-suv-holds-suspects-at-gunpoint-til-police-arrive\">Everett, Washington<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Police say around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, a couple got into their car and started searching for their stolen SUV. They drove around searching the streets of Everett, then spotted their stolen vehicle in front of the McDonald\u2019s on Evergreen Way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey kind of blocked it in. The male driver got out with a gun, ran up to the car, and demanded the occupants stay and wait until police arrived,\u201d said Everett Police Department spokesman Aaron Snell.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the woman with the SUV owner called 911. The passengers stayed put, but the driver didn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>The suspected car thief ran across the street to Cascade High School, where a softball game was under way and tried mingling with the crowd. But, officers still caught him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.indystar.com\/story\/news\/fox59\/2017\/06\/06\/north-side-homeowner-shoots-kills-intruder\/373064001\/\">Indianapolis, Indiana<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe homeowner, his wife and his 3-year-old child were asleep when this intruder came into the residence at which point our homeowner retrieved his firearm and fired multiple shots, striking the intruder,\u201d said Major Richard Riddle with IMPD.<\/p>\n<p>According to Riddle, the homeowner reported hearing a crash as someone entered the home. He came out of his bedroom and saw [18-year-old Derrick Johnson Jr.] in the living room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs far as I can tell [the intruder] did not have a weapon on him,\u201d Riddle said. \u201cBut I want to make this very clear, the individual forced entry into this home and our homeowner confronted him with his own gun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Riddle continued, \u201cYou have a right to protect yourself and your family inside of your home at all times as long as that force is reasonable and you are protecting your life, the life of a third party which in this sense is our homeowner\u2019s family.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wbaltv.com\/article\/pizza-shop-owner-exchanges-gunfire-with-robbers\/9976440\">Baltimore, Maryland<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The owner, Mario Kazzalbach, told police that as he was closing for the night when a man entered the restaurant, displayed a handgun and demanded money. Police said two more men entered the store, one of whom displayed a handgun.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Each one has the gun, the masks, everything. They say, &#8216;No play, no play.&#8217; Each one have a gun. Each one have a gun. Three people, I got three guns on my head,&#8221; Kazzalbach said.<\/p>\n<p>Kazzalbach told police that he complied with the robbers&#8217; demands, giving them money, his necklace and a cellphone, and they fled.<\/p>\n<p>As the robbers fled, Kazzalbach said one turned and fired a shot at him. He was able to grab a shotgun he keeps for protection and fired a shot back.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Each one of them had big guns. I have to save my life,&#8221; Kazzalbach said.<\/p>\n<p>Police searched with K-9 units but were unable to find the three suspects.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timesdaily.com\/news\/crime\/colbert-homeowner-shoots-would-be-robber\/article_00a0d22e-ea27-50c8-b45a-fc30c05da14a.html\">Alabama Shores, Alabama<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Colbert County Sheriff Frank Williamson said the man was shot by a homeowner who confronted the robber inside his residence around 3 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>The sheriff has not released the name of the homeowner nor the robbery suspect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe homeowner was asleep, something woke him up, he saw the robber standing in the doorway between the bedroom and kitchen,\u201d the sheriff said.<\/p>\n<p>Williamson said the homeowner confronted the robber, telling him \u201cget out, I\u2019ve got a gun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApparently, the robber told the homeowner he had a gun also and they started exchanging gun fire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said nearly a dozen shots were fired inside the residence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow the homeowner didn\u2019t get shot, I don\u2019t know,\u201d Williamson said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the suspected robber, after being shot, ran out of the house, and he and a girlfriend ran into a wooded area.
