Chahal then follows him, picking up a stick to defend the store.

Thanks to the couple’s bravery, the encounter lasted only a few seconds and the suspect made off only with a pack of cigarettes, cops say.

Even when the robbery attempt ended, Singh’s pursuit continued. He and a friend chased down the suspects and followed behind their vehicle until cops arrived.

Police then arrested 21-year-old Ryan Kelly Jr. and 20-year-old Brandon Ehlers.

From Columbus, Ohio;

Michael E. Ruffin, 21, was sentenced to 13 years in prison and Dusty E. Thomas, 20, to 10 years after each pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery. Ruffin also pleaded guilty to two gun specifications and Thomas to one.

Ruffin, Thomas and Brandon Bolin, 18, forced their way into a residence in the 500 block of Station Road on the night of Dec. 12, 2014, said Assistant Prosecutor Scott Shumaker. One of the occupants of the home, a 21-year-old man, fired at them in self-defense, killing Bolin.

Both of Bolin’s accomplices were indicted for murder, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge as part of a plea agreement. Under Ohio law, murder charges can be filed against a person whose accomplice dies while they are committing or fleeing from a crime.

From Stockbridge, Georgia;

Robert MacDonald, 26, held a knife to an employee of a Dollar General in Stockbridge while demanding money. The suspect fled the scene after jumping onto the bed of a truck that was waiting for him outside.

MacDonald jumped from the truck when officers attempted to stop the vehicle.

While officers were investigating the armed robbery, patrol officers were dispatched to a home invasion on Kinsey Drive. According to police, the suspect matched the description of MacDonald.

The homeowner told officers he heard glass break inside the home and the suspect entered the home a short while later. The homeowner made contact with suspect and said the suspect approached him in a threatening manner.

The homeowner grabbed his gun from behind the door, pointed it at the suspect, yell for help. The homeowner’s father heard his son, came down the stairs with a gun, and shot the suspect in the chest.

Wilted Willy sends us our first story from somewhere in upstate New York; Surveillance video shows … Thursday morning feel good storiesRead more

[218

post-72285","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-feel-good-stories
["GET
