<\/a><\/center><\/p>\nMick sends us a link to Fox News<\/a> in which they quote mediocre performer Bruce Springsteen as he whines about how tough it was for him to avoid the draft during the Vietnam years;<\/p>\n Bruce Springsteen said writing his song “Born in the U.S.A” helped him cope with his mixed feelings about dodging the draft during the Vietnam War.<\/p>\n “I had some friends, very close friends of mine…guys who came home in wheelchairs, and then, I didn’t go,” the singer told Tom Hanks at Tribeca Film Festival event Friday, “I was a stone-cold draft dodger.”<\/p>\n Springsteen explained he pulled “everything in the draft-dodger’s text book.”<\/p>\n “So, perhaps, I felt guilty about that later on. I had friends who went. I had friends who went and died. I had friends later on who were seriously hurt,” he continued.<\/p>\n He decided he needed to “come to terms with myself” and sing about what he had done.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n From UPI<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI pulled the whole \u2018Alice\u2019s Restaurant.\u2019 \u2018I\u2019m sorry, sir. I don’t think I ever gave him a penny anyway – he never impressed me with what he thinks is talent.
