According to deputy Cody Gress, a call came in at 4:15 a.m. about two or three armed suspects broke into a home in the 2200 block of West Oregon.<\/p>\n

The residents and home invaders exchanged gunfire, and deputies later discovered a body of a man who was shot to death. Gress said the dead man is possibly connected to the crime.<\/p>\n

None of the residents were injured.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Police got a call from the homeowner that someone was trying to break in. She was upstairs when she heard some noise coming from the bottom floor. That\u2019s when she grabbed her gun and headed down the stairs.<\/p>\n

She spotted a Hispanic male in his early 20\u2019s breaking in through her back kitchen door. She started screaming at the man as he managed to kick in the door and make his way into the kitchen.<\/p>\n

He continued to come into the home, so she opened fire. She doesn\u2019t think she hit him. No blood was found at the scene.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In Dallas, Texas<\/a>;<\/p>\n

[Police] found the gunman dead. He won’t be identified until his next of kin has been notified. <\/p>\n

Another person with a gunshot wound was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He was later listed as stable, Dallas police spokeswoman Tramese Jones said. <\/p>\n

Homicide detectives who interviewed witnesses determined that the robber produced a handgun and tried to rob two people. One of the people got shot and then fought with the suspect to defend himself, Jones said. The victim managed to get the gun away and shoot the suspect. <\/p>\n
