In St Louis, Missouri<\/a>;<\/p>\n

A woman who stepped out of the 7-Eleven where she worked for a smoke break found herself in a gun battle early Monday when an armed man tried to rob her before she shot him.<\/p>\n

The 53-year-old woman, whom police have not named, was shot twice in the leg. Police said the woman was conscious and breathing when she was taken to a hospital, where she was stable. Her medical condition was unavailable.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old man died from his injuries at St. Louis University Hospital.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Metro police told News 2 a group of people were inside the store when at least three armed suspects came in through an unlocked back door and began firing.<\/p>\n

Witnesses said one of the people in the group was able to wrestle one of the suspect\u2019s gun away and exchanged fired with at least one person.<\/p>\n

The three gunmen fled and a 22-year-old inside the store called police.<\/p>\n

Responding officers discovered 19-year-old Damelvian Evans critically injured behind the business. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.<\/p>\n

Authorities said officers found one man near the back door with several gunshot wounds. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and later died.<\/p>\n

According to police, two other suspects, Ricky Starks and Dwight Mason Jr., both 18, later showed up at TriStar Centennial Medical Center with gunshot wounds. Police said they both suffered non-life threatening injuries.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
