From Miller County, Arkansas<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Earlier, at around 4:40 a.m., Miller County deputies responded to prowler call in which a citizen reported someone was attempting to break into his residence located off Miller County Road 952. <\/p>\n

The homeowner confronted an armed perpetrator, who was dressed in all black and wearing a ski-mask.<\/p>\n

The two-exchanged gun fire and the suspect fled the area on foot. At the time of the call deputies were unable to locate the suspect.<\/p>\n

More than two hours later, just before 7 a.m., deputies were notified of a 16-year-old male gunshot victim at Wadley Hospital.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kim Sinnott and her twin sister, Tamie Lesher, were visiting their parents for their father\u2019s 75th birthday.<\/p>\n

The alarm went off in the house and the light went on in the garage. Sinnott and her sister prepared to face the intruder while their elderly parents and her 13-year-old granddaughter remained inside.<\/p>\n

Sinnott\u2019s mother gave her her father\u2019s handgun and Lesher grabbed a pipe.<\/p>\n

Sinnott warned the burglar that she had a gun and that she would shoot. The burglar proceeded to attack her and wrestle her on the ground. Sinnott shot him in either the leg or the foot.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he grabbed me and pulled me down I was fearing for my life, I shot him just for him to let me go,\u201d said Sinnott.<\/p>\n
