In Anderson, South Carolina<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Nathan Morris, 19, is charged with two counts of attempted murder for allegedly shooting above the heads of two neighbors who intervened when they saw him breaking into a car, according to a report from an Anderson County Sheriff’s Office deputy.<\/p>\n

Morris parked his car in a driveway on LaFrance Road in Anderson County at about 9:45 a.m. and took a computer from a nearby 2017 Nissan Altima, but mistakenly left his own car key inside, neighbors told the deputy.<\/p>\n

Morris ran toward his own car and was inside of it when a man came out with a gun and fired a warning shot into the ground, the report noted.<\/p>\n

Morris then realized he didn’t have his car keys and came out of his car, saying he had been in a wreck and needed help, but quickly tried to wrestle the gun from the neighbor, the neighbors said.<\/p>\n

In the scuffle, Morris got control of the gun and fired at least once above the heads of two neighbors, who were trying to stop him, according to the deputy’s report.<\/p>\n

The neighbors got the gun back and when deputies arrived, one of the neighbors was laying on top of Morris, keeping the teen from leaving.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Greg Silvery said he rushed out of his bedroom after hearing his son scream for help. When he came out he saw one of his sons trying to push the front door closed as a man was trying to get in. The 6’3, 340 pound disabled Army veteran said he gave it all he had and punched the intruder in the face.<\/p>\n

“I saw his eyes roll back and he hit that and he fell back,” said Greg.<\/p>\n
