{"id":71500,"date":"2017-04-15T08:11:19","date_gmt":"2017-04-15T12:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=71500"},"modified":"2017-04-15T08:13:51","modified_gmt":"2017-04-15T12:13:51","slug":"moab-casualty-count-rises","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=71500","title":{"rendered":"MOAB casualty count rises"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stripes.com\/news\/middle-east\/afghan-official-death-toll-from-massive-us-bomb-rises-to-94-including-4-isis-commanders-1.463677#.WPIL_2yrNZU\">Stars &#038; Stripes<\/a> reports that Major Sherin Aqa, public affairs chief for the 201st Corps in Afghanistan&#8217;s eastern Nangarhar province told Stars &#038; Stripes that the body count for the GBU-43B, Massive Ordnance Airbust Bomb (MOAB) detonation the other day rose to 94, including four Islamic State-Khorasan (ISIS-K) commanders.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For four weeks prior to the bombing, Afghan special forces tried to penetrate the area, but they were unsuccessful due to the difficult terrain and a belt of improvised explosive devises planted by ISIS fighters, Gen. Dawlat Waziri, spokesman for Afghanistan\u2019s Defense Ministry said.<\/p>\n<p>Afghans have since resumed offensive operations against ISIS, Waziri said.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>The militants have claimed responsibility for a number of high-profile attacks across Afghanistan, including the storming of a military hospital in Kabul last month that killed 50 people.
