According to Talking Points Memo<\/a>, phony Vietnam veteran Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) is chomping at the bit to block the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court if “Gorsuch fails to disavow litmus tests on abortion and guns, among other things.”<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only filibuster but use every tool that we have if he is in fact out of the mainstream in that way,\u201d Blumenthal added when asked if he could filibuster Gorsuch. \u201cRemember, we’re talking about respect for a well-established, long-accepted precedent. Roe v. Wade certainly fits that description and that kind of the out-of-the-mainstream thinking will cause me to filibuster and use every tool that I have at my disposal to block his nomination.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I’m not sure how “well-established, long-accepted precedent” makes Roe v. Wade so infallible. Jim Crow laws were the norm for more than a hundred years. <\/p>\n

To me it’s not a religious issue, but rather a human rights issue – a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Roe v. Wade cheapens life and sets a dangerous precedent. It benefits hormonally-driven, irresponsible teenaged boys more than it benefits women.<\/p>\n
