Morris during this case was also punished for pretending to be a former military member, a federal crime. In his first court appearance in May, Morris reportedly told the court he was a veteran and reiterated his past at a September hearing, saying he had completed seven combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Court records also show Morris reported suffering from combat-related post-traumatic stress disorder and had a hip replacement after suffering injuries from an improvised explosive device. He also told the court he was on the outreach team administered by Great Falls Mayor Bob Kelly for homeless veterans.<\/p>\n
Morris\u2019 father later called a Veterans Court coordinator in October, after Morris had begun the enrollment process, to reveal that Morris had never served in the military, despite several attempts to enlist.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
