Of course, he&#8217;s featured here because, like most of his generation, he was a veteran of World War II. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Joseph_Wapner\">Wiki<\/a>; &#8220;Wapner was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star while serving in the South Pacific in Cebu. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army as a lieutenant.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>From the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/national\/people-court-judge-joseph-wapner-dead-97-article-1.2982723\">New York Daily News<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Wapner debuted on the show in 1981 and remained on \u201cThe People\u2019s Court\u201d for 12 years, longer than any other judge in its history.
