The new retirement options don\u2019t affect me, but I am a frequent flyer at the local base\u2019s Exchange and Commissary. The Commissary\u2019s pricing scheme now is cost +5% to pay for expenses incurred, but that may soon change. A new \u201cvariable pricing\u201d plan is being trotted out at select stores as a trial balloon.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cThe variable pricing rule was included in the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act, signed by <s>former President Barack Obama<\/s> SCoaMF late last year, in an attempt to decrease the $1.3 billion in taxpayer funding the system receives annually.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Somehow, I knew that customer service wasn\u2019t\u00a0a consideration, and the cost burden will fall on the military families.
