Someone sent us Mike Sleeper<\/a>. \u00a0He has a cool man cave in his garage. \u00a0Apparently he collects campaign memorabilia…including his own. \u00a0We have reports of him claiming to have been deployed to Iraq during\u00a0Desert Storm.<\/p>\n

Mike also\u00a0likes to tell people he was a Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment during conversations. \u00a0 He backs up those kind of claims with pictures on his FB profile.<\/p>\n

It sounds like some actual Desert Storm veterans found discrepancies in his stories.<\/p>\n

Evidently, \u00a0he is on the School Board<\/a> in Columbia County, GA and according to his twitter account<\/a> he also likes to play trivia games.<\/p>\n

We thought a little Trivia of our own would be nice, so we ordered his official records through a FOIA request.<\/p>\n

That one page alone tells us all we need to know. \u00a0Not a Ranger, No deployment to Desert Storm and he was discharged after a few years as a Private. \u00a0He spent his time in Alaska as an 11B Grunt and\u00a0he was not a Ranger\u00a0with the 75th Ranger Regiment. \u00a0 \u00a0His only award listed is the Army Service Ribbon. \u00a0It appears the Army got tired of dealing with Pvt Sleeper and sent him back home early.<\/p>\n

Private Sleeper should probably come clean with some people who are under a false impression that he is something that he is not. \u00a0Particularly the kids in his school district.<\/p>\n

UPDATE<\/p>\n

Mike Sleeper called me. \u00a0We had a frank conversation. \u00a0He has an opportunity to come forward and set the record straight. \u00a0Rarely do we post all the information we have on a case in order to give people an opportunity to man up. \u00a0 Mike is insistent that he served with the 75th for a period of time. \u00a0 That very well could be, but its not in his official records we were provided. \u00a0 What is a fact is Mike was never a Ranger.<\/p>\n
