{"id":69750,"date":"2017-01-10T17:50:48","date_gmt":"2017-01-10T22:50:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=69750"},"modified":"2017-01-10T17:50:48","modified_gmt":"2017-01-10T22:50:48","slug":"roof-sentenced-to-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=69750","title":{"rendered":"Roof sentenced to death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After three hours of deliberation, the jury in the Dylann Roof murder trial, sentenced him to death according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fox5dc.com\/news\/228315484-story\">Fox5<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>At the beginning of the trial, he addressed jurors directly, insisting that he wasn&#8217;t mentally ill, but he never asked them for forgiveness or mercy, or explained the crime.<\/p>\n<p>He threw away one last chance to plead for his life on Tuesday, telling jurors: &#8220;I still feel like I had to do it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Every juror looked directly at Roof as he spoke for about five minutes. A few nodded as he reminded them that they said during jury selection they could fairly weigh the factors of his case. Only one of them, he noted, had to disagree to spare his life.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have the right to ask you to give me a life sentence, but I&#8217;m not sure what good it would do anyway,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>When the verdict was read, he stood stoic and showed no emotion.
