Trump (@realDonaldTrump) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/803567993036754944\">November 29, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/307920-dem-senator-ill-beat-the-hell-out-of-you-for-burning-flags\">The Hill<\/a>, West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin warned flag burners;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt\u2019s a First Amendment right, but you do it in front of me, I\u2019m going to beat the hell out of you,\u201d Manchin said, according to a Roll Call reporter.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I often agree with the public side of Senator Manchin &#8211; then he goes and votes like a Democrat. He&#8217;s up for reelection in 2018 and his prior support for gun control is causing him some distress. He has also hinted that he might switch parties since the Democrats are in the minority again in the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, he makes a good point, though. If you have the right to express yourself by burning the flag, those who disagree with you might express themselves in a way that distresses you.<\/p>\n<p>Like the other day when Jimmy Janos said that we shouldn&#8217;t boo football entertainers who kneel during the National Anthem.
