{"id":68981,"date":"2016-11-17T09:25:12","date_gmt":"2016-11-17T14:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=68981"},"modified":"2016-11-17T09:25:12","modified_gmt":"2016-11-17T14:25:12","slug":"va-whistleblower-resigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=68981","title":{"rendered":"VA whistleblower resigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2016\/11\/16\/va-whistleblower-resigns-citing-retaliation.html\">Fox News<\/a>, Brian Smothers, who told Congress about the Veterans Affairs Department&#8217;s waiting lists for veterans awaiting treatments, has resigned because of retaliation from the agency. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Brian Smothers told The Associated Press Wednesday the VA had opened two separate inquiries into his actions and tried to get him to sign a statement saying he had broken VA rules. He said he refused.<\/p>\n<p>Smothers also said the VA reassigned him to an office with no computer access, no significant duties and no social contact.<\/p>\n<p>He called the VA&#8217;s actions punitive and his working conditions intolerable. He said he resigned as of Tuesday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The VA claims, of course, that they don&#8217;t tolerate retaliation.
