{"id":68622,"date":"2016-10-26T12:47:29","date_gmt":"2016-10-26T16:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=68622"},"modified":"2016-10-26T12:47:29","modified_gmt":"2016-10-26T16:47:29","slug":"carter-suspends-debt-collection-of-bonuses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=68622","title":{"rendered":"Carter suspends debt collection of bonuses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/2016\/10\/26\/carter-suspends-pentagon-s-demand-return-cash-bonuses-to-california-soldiers.html\">Fox News<\/a> reports that the Secretary of Defense, Ashton Carter has ordered the Pentagon to suspend it&#8217;s efforts to recover bonuses from soldiers who were paid the stipend a decade ago;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Carter said there was a process in place to assist soldiers who sought relief of such obligations, and in this case, \u201chundreds\u201d of Guard members have already sought and have been granted relief.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut that process has simply moved too slowly and in some cases imposed unreasonable burdens on service members,\u201d Carter said. \u201cThat is unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He did not mention any timeframe for the suspension, but he insisted that it would be in place until he was \u201csatisfied that our process is working effectively.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yeah, well, we&#8217;ll see. This administration is real good at creating issues then acting like they&#8217;re fixing the thing they created in the first place.
