The Greenwich Time<\/a> did a biography of this fellow, Joseph Fredrick Dominguez, a trainer at the New York Sports Club and they speak glowingly of his time spent in the Marine Corps;<\/p>\n

Just the nick name “Gunny” makes you think of someone who spent decades in the Marine Corps molding young Marines into heroes.<\/p>\n

But Dominguez, who earned his nickname as a gunnery sergeant in the Corps, doesn’t talk much about his days in Marine Force Recon (Special Forces). He also doesn’t say much about serving as a Marine drill instructor at Paris Island, S.C., or about his service during Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Iraq or in Operation Restoring Hope in Somalia (1992-93) — and post-9\/11, in the Enduring Freedom campaign in Iraq and Afghanistan. And he doesn’t talk about the scars — bullet wounds — that document his service. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now, I didn’t purchase a subscription to that fine periodical, so I don’t know what the rest of the article says, but I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t tell you “Ha-ha, just kidding!” because that’s the only thing that helps them recover from that bio.<\/p>\n

See, Joe, here only spent less than two years in the Marine Corps. He left as a Lance Corporal (E-3) as opposed to Gunnery Sergeant (E-7), and oh, by the way, he joined on March 28, 1991, a month after Desert Storm ended and he was UA (unauthorized absence)\/AWOL twice for brief periods, and after the second incident, they tossed him to the curb a few weeks later. No Marine Force Recon training, no Desert Storm, no Somalia, no OEF deployments, and no bullet wounds.<\/p>\n
