The title above is not a quote from some Trump campaign speech, or from some “Right wing” editorial.\u00a0 Rather, it comes from David Albright.<\/p>\n
Albright\u2019s president of the Institute for Science and International Security.\u00a0 He’s a former UN weapons inspector.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s also co-author of a report by his institute concerning the US-Iran nuclear agreement.\u00a0 That report documents numerous \u201cexemptions\u201d the US and its partners granted to Iran so that Iran would not be in violation of the agreement on 16 January of this year.\u00a0 That was the date at which the agreement required return of Iranian \u201cassets\u201d to begin.<\/p>\n
Or, in other words:\u00a0 it had to happen so that we could\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Funny, but I don’t recall hearing that Iran had returned our Embassy – or compensated the US for damages relating to its seizure.\u00a0 But maybe I missed it.<\/p>\n Reuters has a good article<\/a><\/em> discussing this idiocy.\u00a0 Since Reuters articles seem to have short on-line lifetimes, I\u2019m also linking to a Fox News article<\/a><\/em> which provides much the same info.<\/p>\n Yeah, that Iranian nuclear agreement certainly seems to be a manifestly \u201cgood deal\u201d – for Iran.\u00a0 For the US and the rest of the West . . . not so much.<\/p>\n Coming from this Administration that’s no surprise, though. Given their track record,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 fund a $400 million cash blackmail payment for the return of some US citizens held hostage by Iran<\/del>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 begin returning Iranian assets frozen after the 1979 seizure of the US Embassy in Tehran.\u00a0 And it was necessary not only for that, but so that afterwards we could\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 continue to give Iran money in the future they’ll use to fund their nuclear program<\/del>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 continue returning assets to Iran in the future.<\/p>\nthis bunch of clueless naive dolts<\/del>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 the current Administration seems so incompetent that I believe they could eff up a wet dream three times before breakfast.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
