Richard “Scott” Silverthorne, has been the the mayor of the City of Fairfax, Virginia since 2012 and a substitute teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools. He was arrested yesterday for paying an undercover law enforcement officer for sex with methamphetamine at a motel in Tyson’s Corners.<\/p>\n
During their investigation, police identified a suspect who was distributing meth through a website used to arrange casual sexual encounters between men.<\/p>\n
An undercover detective created a profile on the website, and within a few days, Silverthorne made contact, according to police.<\/p>\n
The mayor allegedly told the detective he could provide meth in exchange for sexual encounters, according to police. The detective agreed to meet with Silverthorne, and Silverthorne agreed to bring other men to the engagement, police say. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
