BNG sends us a link to the story of Julie Dietz, in Boise, Idaho<\/a>, who was spending a night off from trying to Netflix and chill when she heard someone yelling outside her door. It was a teenager who had been shot by Dietz’ neighbor, Alan Amundson, 53. Julie moved the injured teen inside. Amundson then unleashed a fusillade of gunfire on her home. She called the police and took up a defensive position in view of the front door, her own firearm at the ready. However, Amundson wasn’t brave enough to approach – he sent lead instead. The police arrived and Alan fired at them, as well as Dietz’ home. Finally, he offed himself after wounding an officer. Both the teen and the officer have been released from the hospital. <\/p>\n

People keep sending me the story about the 86-year-old woman in Manchester, England<\/a> who had a large sum of money in her purse, and a thief tried to get it. She beat the criminal away with a package of bacon.<\/p>\n

Old folks were feisty this week. The other day in Hillsboro, Missouri<\/a>, a 77-year-old woman confronted two burglars in her house with a scattergun. The criminals made the smart move – out through her window before she brought the weapon to bear.
