{"id":66832,"date":"2016-07-14T10:00:16","date_gmt":"2016-07-14T14:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=66832"},"modified":"2016-07-14T10:09:14","modified_gmt":"2016-07-14T14:09:14","slug":"chicago-ordered-to-pay-nras-court-costs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=66832","title":{"rendered":"Chicago ordered to pay NRA&#8217;s court costs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning we read from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2014\/jul\/7\/court-orders-chicago-pay-nra-legal-fees\/#\">Washington Times<\/a> that a federal court has ordered the City of Chicago to pay nearly a million dollars for the court costs of the National Rifle Association;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The NRA had challenged a Chicago law banning gun sales within the city limits that a federal court ruled unconstitutional in January.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Times says that this is the second time that the demand has been made on the city. <\/p>\n<p>It seems to me that the city&#8217;s confiscated funds from taxpayers might be better spent on actually fighting against criminals rather than fighting to take rights away from the few remaining law abiding citizens.<\/p>\n<p>But, it&#8217;s easier to write new laws than it is to enforce the old ones.
