Early last month, we wrote about this person, Staff Sergeant Alicia Watkins<\/a>, a retired Air Force veteran, when she was hired by the Trump campaign and folks decided to write about her before we could get a FOIA on her records from the National Personnel Records Center. So we sent to the the FOIA branch of the Air Force Personnel Center at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas while all of this activity was swirling around the subject. Our ninja rode herd on the FOIA and it looks to me like the Air Force didn’t even know where Watkins was during her career.<\/p>\n

For example, she spoke at a welcoming ceremony for a group of airmen who had just returned from an Afghanistan deployment in early 2007. The link to the article has been yanked since this whole thing began, but I have a screen shot of part of the article and Google has it cached<\/a>;<\/p>\n

General Hamel introduced an impromptu speaker, Staff Sgt. Alicia Watkins, 61st Communications Squadron, to briefly talk about her deployment and what motivated her while she was deployed. She had joined the Air Force after the 9\/11 attack. Sergeant Watkins was outside her office building in New York when the terrorists attacked and her best friend lost her life. <\/p>\n

“When I think about the global war on terrorism, it meant more to me I think than anything else in my life,” said Sergeant Watkins. “‘Lest I forget,'” she quoted while holding back her tears of the inscription at the bottom of her best friend’s photo. “I’ll never forget the reason why we go overseas, the reason why we spend time away from our families, the reason why we dedicate our lives to a service that’s greater than ourselves.” <\/p>\n

“I will never forget the reason I was there. What an awesome honor it is to serve,” said Sergeant Watkins. “We were the fortunate ones. We got to experience something you can’t write about, you can’t read about, you can’t look at on CNN. It has to come from here,” she said, pointing to her heart. “I will never forget the things that I experienced there.” <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As near as I can tell from her DD214, she was never overseas, let alone in Afghanistan. She was also not in New York City “outside her office” for 9-11 . Her office was at the Pentagon according to the Air Force.<\/p>\n

In this video, at about 1:20, she tells Fox News personalities that she was at the Pentagon on 9-11, that she went to Iraq and then to Afghanistan and that she was injured on 9-11;<\/p>\n
