They’re pretty upset with this guy down in Florida. The Tampa Bay Times<\/a> has written a number of articles about him in the last several months. He operated a charity that flies rescued dogs to areas where they’ll be adopted called “Soaring Paws”. He also claims to link up veterans with their service dogs. <\/p>\n

That doesn’t seem to be true according to state investigators;<\/p>\n

The state asked Adams to explain some of the claims made on the Soaring Paws website.<\/p>\n

It alludes to a network of nearly 300 pilots.<\/p>\n

But where are they? They don’t show up in photos online.<\/p>\n

Velez asked for names. Adams didn’t provide them. He said Soaring Paws doesn’t cover their flight expenses. They pay their own way. That makes them sound a lot like members of the national network Pilots N Paws, an entirely different program.<\/p>\n

His website tells of a 13-member board of directors.<\/p>\n

Velez wanted those names too.<\/p>\n

Adams named himself, his wife and another Albert Adams, relationship unknown.<\/p>\n

His board and corporate officers are an ever-evolving crew.<\/p>\n

He amended state Division of Corporations records three times in March. He used post office box numbers that don’t exist when temporarily installing “James P. Morgan” of Orlando as his treasurer and “Peter Mitchell” of New York as his flight director, according to postal authorities.<\/p>\n

At least 19 times on Facebook, he has claimed to have corporate sponsors. But he told Velez he has “no corporate sponsors, just private donors.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On top of that, he has also made some claims about military service that are pretty wild. He claims that he was an Air Force Academy grad and that he flew in the Air Force until 2004 when he was wounded by bullet fragments in Kandahar. Then he decided to retire as a full-bird colonel;<\/p>\n

Not according to his DD214. That document says that he spent a year and 11 months as an airborne warning systems operator from the time he was 18 years old and left the service as an E-3. <\/p>\n

I also have several court documents that indicate that he spent the 90s in court on charges of fraud, credit card fraud, illegal possession of a concealed weapon and impersonating a law enforcement officer while on parole.<\/p>\n

For example, in 1991, when he claims that he was a cadet at the Air Force Academy, he was also in Florida graduating from his involvement with the court system;<\/p>\n

When he claims that he was in Kandahar dancing for the Taliban when they were shooting “bullet fragments” at his feet, he was also dancing for the local law enforcement community;<\/p>\n

I really hate these guys that use dogs to tug at the public’s heart strings.<\/p>\n

So what was Al doing in the ’90s?<\/p>\n
