From the Washington Post<\/a> this morning on a story about Senator James Webb (D-VA) who switched parties to run for the Senate and play drama queen in the Oval Office;<\/p>\n

But Webb has never been one to rely on polls or political indicators to guide his way.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From the same article, another reason to rescind the 17th Amendment;<\/p>\n

He seems instead to charge ahead on projects that he has decided are worthy of his time, regardless of how they play — or even whether they represent the priorities of the state he represents.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Funny but a Senator is supposed to represent the priorities of their State – it’s the whole reason every State gets two Senators. We should go back to the good old days and have Senators selected by their State legislatures and let the House of Representatives be the representatives of the voters instead of a 100 arrogant princes strutting around snorting down their collective nose at us.<\/p>\n

And while we’re dreaming, we can end their retirement program – no one in public office should be encouraged to make a career out of it. They’d term limit themselves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
