Cactivet and Top Kone send us our first story this morning from Sultan, Washington<\/a> an 80-year-old woman found an intruder standing over her injured 75-year-old husband with a knife. The 80-year-old retreated to her bedroom closet and dug out her handgun, returned to her injured husband and ventilated the 25-year-old intruder. He was DRT (dead right there) when the police arrived. Her husband was taken to the hospital where he was in serious but stable condition.<\/p>\n

Kevin sends us a link from Bluntzer, Texas<\/a> where a friend of Kevin’s came out of his house and found two fellows monkeying with his automobile. A gunfight broke out between the three and ended when the criminals drove off, crashing into a ditch. Police found them after an extensive search. Everyone left the scene unharmed.<\/p>\n

A homeowner in St. Joseph, Missouri<\/a> plugged a fellow who was trying to break into his home. There’s no word on the condition of the perp except that police say that he was unconscious when they hauled him off to the hospital.<\/p>\n

In Lowell, North Carolina<\/a>, Jeffrey Funderburk, a former cop, saw a man breaking into his neighbor’s home, so he approached the fellow after calling the police, and tried to intercede. The crook tried to drive away from the scene, but Funderburk shot his tires out which made it easier for the on-duty cops to catch him and lock him up.<\/p>\n

In Chicago, Illinois<\/a>, a 69-year-old man tried to dissuade a thief in his home with a gun. They got into a struggle during which the homeowner accidentally shot himself in the hand, but that seemed to work because the thief left the scene. Police are still looking for the burglar, and the old guy, a licensed gun owner, is in good condition after a visit to the hospital.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
