{"id":65359,"date":"2016-04-20T13:29:38","date_gmt":"2016-04-20T17:29:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=65359"},"modified":"2016-04-20T13:29:38","modified_gmt":"2016-04-20T17:29:38","slug":"supreme-court-upholds-iran-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=65359","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court upholds Iran lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The US Supreme Court has upheld legislation that from Congress and president Obama which holds Iran financially responsible for terrorist acts dating back to the Beirut barracks bombing in 1983, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2016\/04\/20\/supreme-court-iran-terrorism-compensation-beirut-bombing\/83275082\/\">USAToday<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The 6-2 ruling by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a victory for more than 1,000 victims and their surviving family members, who had sought access to about $1.75 billion in assets controlled by Iran in a U.S. bank.<\/p>\n<p>The court determined that a law passed by Congress did not dictate to the courts how to handle the dispute, as the Iranian challengers had claimed.
