An 80-year-old man in Fairmont, West Virginia<\/a> answered his door to help a damsel in distress. Larry Shaver, and John Grossklaus, both 28 years old and from Fairmont forced their way into the home behind the girl, carrying a handgun and threatening the homeowner. The 80-year-old pulled out his own gun and engaged the pair three times. When the police arrived, they found Shaver lying in the street with a head and neck wound – he was DRT (dead right there). Grossklaus was found nearby and taken to the hospital for his torso wound. He’s in stable condition. It turns out that the gun the criminals had used was a realistic-looking BB gun.<\/p>\n

In Lafayette Parish, Louisiana<\/a>, Jace Breaux, 22, and Chaz Louviere, 23, and Jacob Collett, 33 broke into a home and woke the resident. When the trio opened fire on the resident, he returned fire striking one of the thieves. The police found them at the hospital later.<\/p>\n

A passerby in Anchorage, Alaska<\/a> fired his gun at a 19-year-old who was attempting to rob a gas station there. Both were gone before the police arrived, but they found the thief and arrested him, unharmed.<\/p>\n

Kyle Johnson, passing through Erie, Pennsylvania<\/a>, after kidnapping 23-year-old Brandi Shakir from her mother’s home in Cleveland, Ohio, tried another home invasion. He assaulted the wife and the husband, but while he was escaping the scene, a neighbor shot him in the leg and the back just as the police arrived, thus ending Johnson’s crime spree.
