After six weeks of being on the receiving end of Hamas’ rockets, Israeli forces struck back yesterday killing more than a hundred Palestinians, mostly Hamas security forces. The Wall Street Journal<\/a> reports;<\/p>\n

Israeli defense officials confirmed their aircraft attacked Hamas security compounds across the Gaza Strip Saturday, making good on threats of a significant military response to recent rocket attacks launched into Israel by the Islamic militant group that controls the territory.<\/p>\n

The exact extent of the raids weren’t immediately clear, but a Gaza Health Ministry official said at least 145 people were killed and more than 300 wounded.<\/p>\n

Whether the attack devolves into a prolonged military conflict between the two sides depends on Hamas’ response.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, we can be pretty certain what Hamas’ response willbe don’t we? The Washington Post<\/a> writes;<\/p>\n

Defiant Hamas leaders threatened revenge, including suicide attacks. Hamas “will continue the resistance until the last drop of blood,” vowed spokesman Fawzi Barhoum.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So let me get this straight, Israel sucks up being rocketed for six weeks during a ceasefire arrangement. The ceasefire ends and they retaliate for the fire they received for six weeks during the ceasefire and Hamas is outraged? Where’s the outrage from the supposedly “industrialized” nations about the barbaric behavior of the Gazans?<\/p>\n

The “moderate” Abbas chimes in;<\/p>\n

In the West Bank, the Palestinian President Mr. Abbas said in a statement that he “condemns this [Israeli] aggression” and calls for restraint, the AP quoted an aide, Nabil Abu Rdeneh, as saying.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
