<\/a><\/p>\nThe latest tactic of the terrorists at the ironically named Military Religious Freedom Foundation<\/a> and their mullah, Michael \u201cMikey\u201d Weinstein, is to attack various VA POW displays around the country for displaying a Bible with the empty place setting representing our missing service members and prisoners of war. Of course, every time a VA facility capitulates to the specious claims that the displays violate the First Amendment, it only encourages the terrorists. From Fox News<\/a>;<\/p>\n Weinstein\u2019s declares that the Bible\u2019s inclusion on the remembrance table is a \u201cloathsome message\u201d and a \u201cdisgustingly bigoted statement\u201d that is \u201can absolute disgrace and unbridled slap-in-the-face to all of the men and women in uniform.\u201d He claims that the symbol of faith will \u201ceviscerate good order, morale, unit cohesion and discipline\u201d in our military. <\/p>\n Only someone with a burning animus toward this traditional symbol of comfort and faith could make such wild, hurtful, and unfounded claims. <\/p>\n It would be laughable\u2014except that the U.S. military has too often capitulated to bullies like Weinstein. He successfully harassed Patrick Air Force Base into suspending use of the traditional remembrance table decoration, just as he attempted to intimidate the Pentagon to curtail certain National Day of Prayer activities.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n I’d change that second paragraph to begin “Only someone with a burning anus….”<\/p>\n The First Amendment reads “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof….” Congress hasn’t made a law establishing a religion, and if anyone is prohibiting the free exercise of religion, it’s the misnamed Military Religious Freedom Foundation. The Fox News article quotes from a couple of POWs how important their faith was to them while they suffered. For Mikey and his minions to disregard those simple truths as a testament to human endurance is just disrespectful to all soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen who may some day find themselves in those unfortunate circumstances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"![\"Mikey](\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Mikey-Weinstein.jpg\")
