He scammed “Wags for Warriors of Virginia<\/a>” out of some money pretending to be a wounded Marine of the latest wars. Of course, he had never deployed and he’d been dishonorably discharged. Pat sends us a link from the Virginian-Pilot <\/a>which reports he was sentenced to eight months in jail yesterday in Virginia Beach;<\/p>\n Brent Joseph Henry also was ordered to pay $2,878 in restitution, which is part of what he received in services and donations from Wags for Warriors of Virginia, based in the Beach. Henry pleaded guilty in September to obtaining money by false pretenses, according to online court records.<\/p>\n […]<\/p>\n The charity arranged to train a dog that Henry owned to be a service animal, spending $2,420 on it, according to a stipulation of facts entered in the case. It also paid $458 for veterinary services, the stipulation said.<\/p>\n Henry told a member of the charity that he deployed to Iraq seven or eight times, was injured in a military helicopter crash and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. He repeatedly asked for help with medical bills and received $818 for that, the document said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Of course, when the organization asked for a DD214, Henry wouldn’t show them.
