71-year-old Tony Pitts heard banging on his back door in Hickory, North Carolina<\/a> late Monday night. He took his gun and went to check on it – he found a stranger standing in his kitchen. Pitts welcomed the intruder with three shots, two of which he claims hit the thief. The thief immediately un-assed the AO and went to a nearby club for medical help. He’s in critical condition in the hospital after surgery.<\/p>\n

In Memphis, Tennessee<\/a>, a homeowner caught a burglar in his garage – his wife brought him his gun so he could hold the thief at gunpoint, but the burglar got tired of waiting for the police and walked off. He’s still on the loose.<\/p>\n

In New Orleans, Louisiana<\/a>, police found a sixteen-year-old on the street with a leg wound. At first, he told police that he had been the victim of a drive-by shooting. More intense questioning by the police and the teen admitted that he’d been shot while he was attempting to commit a burglary. Police returned to the neighborhood and no one would admit to the gunfire intervention counseling, but since the criminal already admitted to committing the crime, he will be charged when he gets out of the hospital. I’m sure NASA will be waiting to recruit the rocket scientist when he gets out of jail.<\/p>\n

In Louisville, Kentucky<\/a>, John Ganobick chased a woman in a parking garage and bashed her face into a pole while he pulled out a knife and threatened her. A single round from her firearm ended the attack. He’s been arrested and recovering nicely in the hospital.<\/p>\n

In Greenville, North Carolina<\/a>, police found another guy with a gunshot wound sitting in his car, in a ditch, with his pal. At about the same time, the police got a call about an attempted armed burglary where a resident had busted caps at the burglars, hitting one. Simple math. The pair in the car were arrested and a third one is still on the lam.<\/p>\n

In Beaufort County, South Carolina<\/a>, a homeowner saw a man breaking into his storage trailer, so he shot twice into the darkness of the trailer’s interior until the intruder admitted that he’d been shot. Then the homeowner called the police. Local LEOs are considering charges against the homeowner.
