William is not his real name. He said the Veterans Administration asked him not to use his name prior to this interview.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Because the VA is the repository of all of the classified stuff in the world, right? But, I’m getting ahead of myself here. William (not his real name) was called into his commander’s office to receive a letter from President Kennedy directing him to report for SEAL Training – the first class. Because SEALs are personally selected by the President, I’m guessing. By the mid-eighties, SEALs were doing their recruiting at the local video arcade<\/a>, though.<\/p>\n
