According to the FBI one of the two .50 caliber rifles in that arsenal traced back to the &#8220;Fast and Furious&#8221; gun-walking program that was designed to trace guns as they moved through the structure of the drug cartels. Many of the thousands of guns were lost by the Feds, but this one turned up, says<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2016\/01\/20\/rifle-capable-taking-down-helicopter-found-at-el-chapo-hideout-purchased-through-fast-and-furious-program.html\"> Fox News<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Federal officials told Fox News they are not sure how many of the weapons seized from Guzman\u2019s house actually originated in the U.S. and where they were purchased, but are investigating.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the roughly 2,000 weapons sold through Fast and Furious, 34 were .50-caliber rifles that can take down a helicopter, according to officials.<\/p>\n<p>Federal law enforcement sources told Fox News that \u2018El Chapo\u2019 would put his guardsmen on hilltops to be on guard for Mexican police helicopters that would fly through valleys conducting raids.
