Someone sent us their work on this fellow, Peppe Hibbert. As you can see from the photo above, he claims that he was a chaplain in the Army. According to his LinkedIn profile<\/a>, he says that he was in the Army from 1988 to 2012. <\/p>\n

Here’s the DD214 that he shows everyone;<\/p>\n

The truth is somewhat different, though. The National Personnel Records Center says that he was an 11C mortarman for four years in the active Army, in the 101st Airborne Division, and that he has a deployment to Desert Storm, then he spent six years in the National Guard.<\/p>\n

According to his actual DD214 he earned a Combat Infantryman Badge, but I guess one wasn’t good enough. He was discharged as an E-3 (Private First Class), not an O-3 (Captain).<\/p>\n

Using his Chaplain persona, he wrote a self-help book<\/a> for women. He also got in a bit of a dust-up with a Killeen, Texas police officer<\/a> in a case that the judge tossed<\/a>. In 2012, He defrauded a woman in Hinesville, Georgia<\/a>. I see a pattern here – he seems to victimize women in military towns.<\/p>\n

I think this is a TAH first. We’ve had Chaplain Corps veterans pretend to be other things, but I think this is the first one we’ve had who actually pretends to be a Chaplain. Do we have all of the branches covered yet?<\/p>\n

Hondo found more service for Hibbert than the NPRC did;<\/p>\n

He may have been a chaplain, and he may have been a captain, but that DD214 isn’t an accurate record of that period of service, unless he was in Afghanistan six months before 9-11, he went to the Advanced NCO Course while he was a Private First Class and they awarded him Good Conduct Medals for the time he was out of the service.<\/p>\n
