<\/a><\/center><\/p>\nJoe “Bite Me” Biden is planning on jumping into the Democrat campaign for the nomination for President this week, so he had some things to clean up before that leap. Beginning with his reported opposition to the raid on the Osama bin Laden compound in 2011. He described his participation in the discussion to execute the raid in 2012<\/a>;<\/p>\n \u201cEvery single person in that room hedged their bet except Leon Panetta. Leon said, \u2018Go,\u2019\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n \u201c[Obama] got to me. He said, \u2018Joe, what do you think?\u2019 And I said, \u2018You know, I didn\u2019t know we had so many economists around the table.\u2019 I said, \u2018We owe the man a direct answer. Mr. President, my suggestion is, don\u2019t go. We have to do two more things to see if he\u2019s there,\u2019\u201d Biden said at the time.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n But now, because he wants to be your president, he was for the raid;<\/p>\n \u201cEverybody went around the room, and there were only two people who were definitive,\u201d Biden said. Leon Panetta, the CIA director at the time, \u201csaid, \u2018Go,\u2019\u201d while then-Defense Secretary Bob Gates \u201csaid, \u2018Don\u2019t go.\u2019\u201d Clinton, in this account, would have been among those on the fence.<\/p>\n Biden said he raised a third option. \u201cI said, \u2018Well,\u2019 I said, \u2018I think we should make one more pass\u2019\u201d with an unmanned aerial vehicle to be sure the al-Qaida leader was at the target site. But that wasn\u2019t his real preference, he told the forum. Moments after the meeting wrapped up, and he and Obama were alone, \u201cI told him my opinion, that I thought he should go, but to follow his own instincts,\u201d the vice president said. \u201cI never, on a difficult issue, never say what I think finally until I go up in the Oval with him alone.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Biden has been on the wrong side of history on every single foreign policy issue since he began his political career in 1973.
