<\/a><\/center><\/p>\nSeveral people sent us link to a story about this Wayne Simmons<\/a> fellow who has pulled the wool over the eyes of Fox News, among others, claiming that he was a CIA spook and a contractor. Kent Clizbe<\/a> busted him two years ago and warned Fox News, he says, but Fox continued to use Simmons. According to the Washington Times<\/a>, Simmons was arrested by the FBI for his skullduggery;<\/p>\n The FBI announced Thursday that Mr. Simmons had been arrested and indicted on charges of major fraud against the United States, wire fraud and making false statements to the government.<\/p>\n Mr. Simmons made the false statements about his ties to the CIA to at least three companies, one of which hired him as a \u201csenior intelligence advisor\u201d and he was deployed by the United States \u201coverseas as an advisor to senior U.S. military personnel,\u201d according to the indictment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n I’ll be honest, I don’t pay attention to any of these “experts” anyway, so I don’t know if this guy was ever on while I was watching. I also don’t read other blogs, unless someone sends me a link to something that interests me. I don’t pretend that I’m an expert, but I’ve been dealing with phonies for so long, that everyone makes me suspicious.<\/p>\n Anyway, Simmons was arrested for stealing more than a hundred grand from a lady who he told he would be investing it for her, but the money went to pay for his expenses. It seems that Fox never paid him directly, but I’m sure just appearing on the show gave him a measure of credibility he wouldn’t have otherwise. <\/p>\n He’s also being arrested for lying to the federal government about his time in the CIA and with contractors, according to CNN Money;<\/p>\n U.S. officials told CNN that there have been suspicions about Simmons’s resume and U.S. government agencies have received calls about claims he made on his website about his past work.<\/p>\n But because government security agencies generally do not comment on people who worked for them in certain capacities, that only served to fuel the perception that Simmons had a top-secret background.<\/p>\n In a statement the CIA said it is “working closely with the Justice Department on this matter and we refer you to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia for comment on the charges.” <\/p><\/blockquote>\n Again, it’s the math that should have busted him – he was 62 years old, two years older than me, and he claimed that he was recruited from the Navy by the CIA in 1973, when he was 20 years old. That’s like those stories that we hear from other phonies who were chosen by the CIA before they could graduate from jump school – or Joe Cryer who went straight to the SEAL Teams without going to BUD\/S after they found him in a video arcade.<\/p>\n When we warned Fox News about the Wickre family security expert, Jared Stern<\/a>, they pulled his videos and I haven’t seen him back on there since.<\/p>\n Clizbe says that he never published his article, because Simmons’ friends “circled the wagons” around the liar. I can’t imagine that would stop me if I had the juice to out a phony. But, that’s not my community, maybe they do things differently over there. I guess that’s why I need a lawyer or two or three.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
