<\/a><\/center><\/p>\nWWMT in Kalamazoo<\/a> reports that Joseph Weeks, who we wrote about a year ago<\/a> when he was pretending to be an Air Force PJ, is facing four felony charges for embezzlement and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n Weeks was the president of the motorcycle charity group Sons of Malta.<\/p>\n The group organized the annual EZ Memorial Ride to raise money for the family of fallen Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer Eric Zapata.<\/p>\n But in 2014 the Sons of Malta was thousands of dollars in debt after the charity ride.<\/p>\n When Newschannel 3 confronted Weeks, he told us he simply over budgeted, but then later resigned as group president.<\/p>\n Charity receipts given to Newshcannel 3 uncovered money spent at local casinos and on Week’s personal utility bills.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The victims, the Sons of Malta motorcycle club, are standing by their man;<\/p>\n “You’re still innocent until proven guilty and I still back him,” said Justin Seitler, the Vice President of Sons of Malta.<\/p>\n “Joe’s involvement with the embezzlement charges, when there was other people on the board that was with him, and why are they not being questioned, and why is it not being brought up?” said Ted Casarex, Eric Zapata’s uncle and current Sons of Malta member.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The article specifically states specifically that Joe isn’t facing stolen valor charges. I’m not sure if Michigan has stolen valor laws, so it would have to be the feds that charge him for that crime.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
