But there you go.

In Prince George, Virginia, a vacationing homeowner watched on his security system as a burglar crawled across his roof and into his home. Police officers arrived on the scene in time to hear a single gun shot. When they turned their lights on, the burglar was DRT on the roof with a single gun shot to his noggin. The story isn’t clear on who fired the shot, but the end result was satisfactory to the law-abiding and peaceful community.

In Memphis, Tennessee, a homeowner heard noises in his kitchen and found a man in there holding what looked like a gun wrapped in a rag who threatened to shoot the victim if he didn’t show him where the valuables were. The uncooperative homeowner then proceeded to beat the snot out of the burglar. When police arrived, they found the criminal laying on the floor and he was “unresponsive”.

Chief Tango sends us a story from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where two fellows entered a convenience store with a foot-long knife and demanded money. The clerk, although he had a gun, chose to run the thieves away with a sword he kept behind the counter instead. It seemed to work.

The pastor of a church in Shelby, North Carolina has decided, in the wake of the Charleston, SC shooting, to take steps to protect his parishioners by arming ten of them to act as security. He’s also arming them with training.

UpNorth sends us a link about a story in Tekonsha Township, Michigan, a burglar climbed in a window of a home, and I’ll bet he wishes that he had confronted a homeowner with a gun – instead he encountered a very protective dog. Mister Criminal un-assed the AO but he was found getting his injuries treated at the local hospital. The article says that he requires “reconstructive surgery”. I’m guessing the surgery will be required somewhere within the immediate reach of a dog.

Only in Charleston, Oregon could a homeowner fire one round into the ground “in a safe … Monday morning feel good storiesRead more

[218

post-61425","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-feel-good-stories
["GET
