The folks at Military Phonies<\/a> send us their work on this Joseph Harwell who claims that he was wounded in Desert Storm when he was either a 2nd Lieutenant or a Captain (he can’t make up his mind) but what he is sure about is that he was in a truck that “struck a minefield”. For that he gets a service dog and Purple Heart license plates;<\/p>\n

Well, the truth is that he was in the Reserves and it looks like he deployed to Operations Desert Shield & Storm as 76V storage supply man. In 1993, he enlisted into the active force and became a 92A Automated Logistical Specialist and an Material Handling Equipment operator (he drove a forklift in a warehouse) in Fort Worth, TX, then in 1996, he went to the Nevada National Guard to serve as a 88M truck driver in an armor unit and he was finally discharged in 1998.<\/p>\n

No Purple Heart, no hospital stay (during Desert Storm, it would have been 96th General Hospital in Frankfurt and not Landstuhl, anyway). He was discharged as an E-3 Private first Class, never an officer, Lieutenant or Captain. I’ll tell you what, I’m starting to feel sorry for all of these freakin’ dogs that are getting pawned off on these lying bastards.
