{"id":59891,"date":"2015-05-19T07:59:46","date_gmt":"2015-05-19T11:59:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=59891"},"modified":"2015-05-18T16:15:03","modified_gmt":"2015-05-18T20:15:03","slug":"israel-closes-tanks-to-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=59891","title":{"rendered":"Israel closes tanks to women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/israel-says-no-tanks-women-soldiers-181118887.html\">AFP<\/a> reports that the Israeli Defense Forces have decided to exclude women from their armor units because the jobs involved too much physical work;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>News website Ynet and other outlets reported that after an inquiry, military chiefs had concluded the requirements for tank crew exceeded the physiological capabilities of most women.<\/p>\n<p>Women can join combat units only when those units do not require excessive physical abilities or direct contact with the enemy, the daily Haaretz quoted the authors of the report as saying.<\/p>\n<p>The report also cited the close confines of a tank as being unsuitable for women to serve alongside men, as is already the case in the submarine service.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the article, the IDF was mandated to integrate women into combat units &#8220;unless there was a valid reason not to do so&#8221;, you know just like the mandate from the US Department of Defense recently. Everyone likes to point out to me that &#8220;the Israelis do it&#8221; so we must conform to their standard (well, except when the IDF is killing terrorists).
