Local reports indicate there are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.staradvertiser.com\/news\/breaking\/20150517_Downed_military_aircraft_reported_in_Bellows_Air_Force_Station_area.html\"><i>1 reported dead and several injured<\/i><\/a>.\u00a0 (A later report from a different source <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/2015\/05\/18\/marines-12-taken-to-hospital-after-aircraft-hard-landing\/\"><i>puts the number injured at 21<\/i><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The aircraft was from the 15th MEU at Camp Pendleton, CA. It had been participating in exercise activities associated with the first US Pacific Command\u2019s Amphibious Leaders Symposium.<\/p>\n<p>The old recruiting slogan was right: \u201cIt\u2019s not just a job \u2013 it\u2019s an adventure.\u201d And the &#8220;big-boy toys&#8221; you get to play with are neat.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s sometimes a damned dangerous adventure, though.  Those big-boy toys can also be fickle sometimes.
