They\u2019re also very popular among the military. The company is usually one of the \u201cgood guys\u201d when it comes to supporting the military.<\/p>\n<p>However, even the \u201cgood guys\u201d can goof. And recently, Under Armor did just that.<\/p>\n<p>Here are images of two of Under Armors recently-released t-shirts:<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/7tr0zsD.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/it30c8Z.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first shirt was called \u201cBand of Ballers\u201d. I don\u2019t think I have to tell anyone what image that one what image was used as its pattern \u2013 but if you\u2019re having a temporary brain cramp and can\u2019t recall, <a href=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/vV9jObS.jpg\"><i>here\u2019s the original image<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The second shirt was called \u201cCrossing Over\u201d. It also should look familiar \u2013 it\u2019s based on the famous painting of <a href=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/f\/f7\/Emanuel_Leutze_(American%2C_Schw%C3%A4bisch_Gm%C3%BCnd_1816%E2%80%931868_Washington%2C_D.C.)_-_Washington_Crossing_the_Delaware_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg\/800px-Emanuel_Leutze_(American%2C_Schw%C3%A4bisch_Gm%C3%BCnd_1816%E2%80%931868_Washington%2C_D.C.)_-_Washington_Crossing_the_Delaware_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg\"><i>Washington crossing the Delaware River during the American Revolution<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/sport\/story\/2015-05-16\/under-armour-iwo-jima-basketball-goal-photo-t-shirt-disrespectful-veterans-wwii\">The resulting reaction<\/a> from serving military and vets \u2013 and some of the public \u2013 was predictable. Much was highly negative; some was supportive.<\/p>\n<p>To their credit, Under Armor seems to have pulled the shirts from sale quite quickly, and has removed their images from their website. They\u2019ve also rather profusely apologized for offending serving military and veterans. No word on whether they fired the \u201cmarketing genius\u201d involved in approving the sale of those shirts.<\/p>\n<p>Just a bit of proof that not only government agencies can have those &#8220;WTF were you thinking?&#8221; moments.
