AW1Ed sends us our first feel good story for this Sunday morning, it’s from Virginia<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Officers said they received a call about a burglary in progress in the 100 block of Grace Drive around 10:36 p.m. When officers were traveling to the residence, they were notified there had been a shooting at the home.<\/p>\n

The woman who fired the shot told 10 On Your Side it all played out while she was on the phone with 911 dispatchers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, he was coming at me, and I think he was yelling, but you know, it\u2019s one of those things were it was so fast, I don\u2019t know, but all I knew is he was coming at me and I knew if he got past me, my daughter was in the back room,\u201d said the woman, who asked not to be identified.<\/p>\n

The woman said she didn\u2019t hesitate to pull the trigger, thanks to trips to the gun range with her husband. He is a James City County police officer, who was on duty last night when the man tried breaking in.<\/p>\n

\u201cHad I not been able to protect myself with the gun, I don\u2019t know what he would have done to me,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t know what he would have done to my daughter, there\u2019s no telling, but I\u2019ll never have to find out because I stopped the situation.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A 27-year-old man suspected of a home invasion Friday evening is in the hospital after the homeowner shot him.<\/p>\n

At 5:13 p.m., the Fayetteville Police Department was called to the 500 block of Mayview Street. Officers said the homeowner armed himself and shot the intruder as he entered the house, a news release from the Fayetteville Police Department said.<\/p>\n

The man was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available.<\/p>\n

The homeowner was not injured, the release said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
