This morning’s Washington Times<\/a> reports that President Bush has visited 49 states in his eight year term, and he’s neglected Vermont, poor Vermont;<\/p>\n

Now, he’s got just 46.5 days left in office, and a scant 50-minute flight aboard his personal 747 to allow him to check off that 50th state. So will he do it?<\/p>\n

“I’ve heard some talk that he might be considering a trip here in the last couple of weeks of his presidency,” said state Republican Party Chairman Rob Roper. “But we haven’t been pushing one way or the other,” said the typically laid-back Vermonter. The White House will neither confirm nor deny the claim.<\/p>\n

Just what could Mr. Bush do if he popped up to Vermont for a day trip? “Avoid arrest,” Mr. Roper said with a laugh. “He’s welcome in most of the state, but not so much in Brattleboro.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Brattleboro has been a topic a few times here on This Ain’t Hell as a den of flatlanders trying to pass themselves off as Vermonters. Poor Vermont has suffered mightily from the invasion of Leftists – when I lived there about twenty years ago, the state was largely Republican, except for Chittenden County around Burlington which had as it’s mayor Bernie Sanders – but the illness spread and Vermont seems to be populated by moonbats these days.<\/p>\n

Gone is the spirit that roused a tavern full of drunks to stumble through thickets and forests to seize Fort Ticonderoga in the dead of night without firing a shot. It’s now controlled by sissies who want to arrest our own President.<\/p>\n

Oh, um, in case Vermonters didn’t know – Vermont doesn’t mean “Green Mountain” in French. It means Worm Mountain in French. (1 ver<\/a> Noun, masculine (a) worm;) Good to see you living up to your namesake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
