As Stone was investigating the incident, Bird ran into Stone with his automobile, breaking his wrist. Stone opened fire and struck Bird in the neck, who is now paralyzed. Well, on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tulsaworld.com\/news\/crimewatch\/da-s-office-shooting-by-security-guard-ricky-stone-that\/article_661a0dee-2c00-562d-8e7d-8cd2df1d88ac.html\">Wednesday<\/a>, the prosecutor, Assistant District Attorney Erik Grayless, determined that Stone wasn&#8217;t going to be charged;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Grayless reviewed the case and found that the \u201cuse of force (Stone) used was justified to prevent further battery on Stone by Bird.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grayless said Stone\u2019s wrist was broken from the initial impact with Bird\u2019s vehicle, which indicated that he was at risk of \u201cgreat bodily harm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once that occurred, Grayless said, Stone was legally justified in using his weapon to defend himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe feel terrible for Mr. Bird and his family,\u201d Grayless said. \u201cBut ultimately it was Mr. Bird\u2019s actions that caused this to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The shooting is one of five that Tulsa police have deemed self-defense this year.
