Albracht told us he was going to get as many of us off that hill as he could, even if he died trying,\u201d said Nelson Koon, 64, an artilleryman on Kate who now lives in Moriarty. \u201cHe kept his word.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Capt. Albracht hadn\u2019t been there, I don\u2019t think any of us would have made it out,\u201d Koon said in a recent interview at his home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was just shy of my 19th birthday when we were about to get overrun. Albracht was 21, but represented to me what a Green Beret is supposed to be.
