I guess &#8220;Saving Private Ryan&#8221; won their poll, and even though I liked the movie, I think it wasn&#8217;t the best. Their list was pretty incomplete;<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?attachment_id=58395\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-58395\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/SS-Best-movies-300x249.jpg\" alt=\"S&amp;S Best movies\" width=\"300\" height=\"249\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-58395\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/SS-Best-movies-300x249.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/SS-Best-movies-401x333.jpg 401w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/SS-Best-movies.jpg 667w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t see my favorites, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0287535\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\">The Lost Battalion<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0041163\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\">Battleground<\/a> (1949), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0185906\/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1\">Band of Brothers<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0075784\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\">A Bridge Too Far<\/a>. Some of their choices are questionable. I walked out of Apocalypse Now, Platoon and Full Metal Jacket because they were pieces of crap and I couldn&#8217;t stand the stereotypes. <\/p>\n<p>My favorite Hollywood platoon sergeants were Gunny Highway (Clint Eastwood &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0091187\/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1\">Heartbreak Ridge<\/a>), Clell Hazard (James Caan &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0093073\/\">Gardens of Stone<\/a>) and Sergeant Kinnie (James Whitmore &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0041163\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\">Battleground<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>So who did I miss? What are your favorites?
