Well, here we go. Another group is raising hell about having to pay a fee for not having the \u201cproper\u201d kind of healthcare. Predictably, they don\u2019t much like it.<\/p>\n
Seems students at Cornell are being \u201cstrongly encouraged\u201d to join the University\u2019s healthcare system. For those that don\u2019t, there\u2019s now a mandatory fee for not joining up. That\u2019s true even if the individual doesn\u2019t need it because they are already covered by other legally-mandatory health insurance.<\/i><\/a><\/p>\n If you ask me, that sounds quite reminiscent of the \u201cwonderful system\u201d commonly called Obamacare. There\u2019s a penalty for opting out there, too \u2013 even if you don\u2019t believe you need it.<\/p>\n Yeah, right. Cornell\u2019s students get little sympathy from me. That\u2019s what happens when a regime that merely gives lip service to concepts of individual liberty and freedom \u2013 but in reality aspires to be a Soviet-style dictatorship controlling every aspect of people\u2019s lives \u2013 is in power. They\u2019ll tell you what you must do, and take away choices you previously had.<\/p>\n Besides: by and large, their parents voted for such \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 a regime<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 an Administration in DC.\u00a0 Why should they expect anything different at Cornell?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
